Key responsibilities:
· Operate tractor-trailers and long-combination vehicles, ensuring on-time deliveries across Canada and internationally.
· Plan and navigate routes, adjusting for weather and road conditions.
· Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution.
· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any issues.
· Maintain accurate logs and handle shipping paperwork.
· Follow all safety and transportation regulations
Requirements:
o Secondary high school graduation certificate
· Valid Class 1 driver’s license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
· Minimum of 1 year experience operating long-haul trucks.
· Knowledge of long-distance routes, including provincial and international regulations.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing time and routes effectively.
· Basic mechanical skills to perform emergency roadside repairs.
· Physical ability to load, unload, and secure cargo when necessary.
· Excellent communication skills to interact with dispatch, customers, and other drivers.
· Willingness to travel long distances and work extended hours as needed.
